Atelierhaus Salzamt

In the late Middle Ages the historic Salzamt – in its original form – served as a warehouse for salt, before it was transported overseas to Bohemia and Moravia on the major North-South trading route.

As part of the European Capital of Culture 2009 celebrations, the Salzamt was restored and converted into artists’ studios. It is now a place of international artistic exchange, the studios serving as the venue and workshop for the development of creative arts of every kind.
