How to travel to Linz

Airport

The Blue Danube Airport is at the gates of the city, just 20 minutes away from the centre. Direct flights from Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, London, Salzburg and Vienna.


Airport Transfer

  • Trains go from Linz and Wels to Hörsching train station at hourly intervals.
    Linz – Hörsching journey time: 10 minutes
    Wels – Hörsching journey time: 14 minutes
    A free shuttle bus to the airport awaits all passengers (with valid plane tickets) who are travelling to Linz Airport by train at Hörsching train station (please note: You will have to show your train ticket). The journey takes three minutes. The shuttle service operates as required between 5.00 a.m. and 10.00 p.m.
    You can request the shuttle from the train station by calling 0043 800 206600 at no charge.
    Please speak to the information desk if you wish to request the shuttle service at the airport.

The ÖBB offers convenient, lowcost connections from the whole of Austria and neighbouring countries. The main station is close to the centre and directly linked to all major transport routes.

Since 2011 the new WESTbahn rail service covers the Vienna to Salzburg route via Linz in 3 hours or so.

LEO Express:
LEO ExpressLEO Express bus connects Linz with Prague, České Budějovice and Český Krumlov.
