Pöstlingberg Adventure World

A ride on the Pöstlingbergbahn up Linz's local mountain is an experience for the whole family. From the mountain tramway station, it's only a few minutes to the pilgrimage basilica and the viewing platform. From here, you can enjoy a wonderful view of Linz and the Danube.

A special highlight for both young and old is the Grottenbahn – Linz's realm of dwarves and fairy tales. (Please note the opening hours and the days the Grottenbahn is closed)

A harbor tour shows the interplay of culture and nature in Linz. The ship "MS Linzerin" of the shipping company Wurm+Noé sets off from the landing stage below the Lentos Art Museum Linz on a round trip down the Danube and offers exciting perspectives of the graffiti gallery Mural Harbor.

The 45-minute cruise starts at Linz's cultural mile. With views of the Ars Electronica Center, the Lentos Art Museum, forum metall in the Danube Park and the Brucknerhaus, the journey continues downstream. The highlight of the tour is the entrance to Linz's commercial harbor. For some years now, colorful graffiti by international artists has adorned the walls of the industrial buildings here. You get a great view of the works of art from the ship. The MS Linzerin turns here for the return journey. On board the ship, the staff will spoil you with culinary delights. A delight for all the senses!

Please note: Due to river engineering measures, it is not possible to enter Mural Harbor from July until around mid-November. Instead, the shipyard harbor will be used. The view of the Murals is therefore only possible to a limited extent.

Museum of the future

The whole family can experiment and research on adventure journeys through the museum of the future, Ars Electronica Center in Linz. In the children's research laboratory, young researchers from 4 to 8 years of age can do handicrafts, make music, draw, program and experiment. This allows them to immerse themselves playfully in the thematic fields of the Ars Electronica Center. On a discovery tour in the castle museum

The Linz Castle Museum provides a varied insight into the natural, cultural and art history of Upper Austria from the beginning of life to the 21st century. Here, young and old can discover extraordinary animals, admire historical inventions or visit exhibitions on special topics. Every first Sunday of the month all families are invited to explore the castle museum free of charge. Family afternoons are also offered on a regular basis, with alternating main themes.

There are 10,000 different species of plants to admire on more than four hectares at the Botanical Gardens in Linz. The garden's unique protected collection of cacti is the finest in Europe. Immerse yourself in the world of steel in Linz and discover voestalpine Stahlwelt in an interactive way. This interactive exhibition uses multimedia to show you what lies behind the Austrian group. The latest technologies and innovative production processes of Linz steel are presented, right through to the finished product.

Special tours for families with children aged 6 to 15 are offered here. The programme is adapted to the age of the young explorers.
