A win-win for everyone Everything in balance

Our goal?

Tourism as added value for the entire city.

How can we achieve this?

By acting in three dimensions: ecology, social issues, and economy. Let's create a Destination Linz that inspires locals and guests alike—and grows in harmony with people, the environment, and the economy!

Strategy 2030

Our destination strategy paves the way for a balanced, sustainable Destination Linz. One of its central components is the “Balanced Tourism” project, which contributes to the field of action “Sustainable Development”.

The “Balanced Tourism” project was supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy, and Tourism and implemented under the direction of Florian Größwang | Gruber-Größwang Consulting.

We are part of the Climate Alliance

As a member of the Climate Alliance, we take a clear stance: we are committed to creating a future-proof tourist destination. We also benefit from a strong network that provides access to knowledge sharing and further training.

In order to join, a ClimateCheck was carried out at both locations to identify potential for a more sustainable office environment.

Our standards in everyday work

What we stand for on the outside begins with us. We make conscious choices in our day-to-day interactions.

Benefit program

We are committed to providing a supportive and motivating work environment—from ergonomic office equipment and health initiatives to public transportation subsidies and continuing education opportunities.

Paper is patient—we are not

Printed products are important, but we print consciously:

  • Principle of minimal resource consumption
We try to avoid overproduction and continuously evaluate which types of printed materials are “still needed.”
  • Quality
The paper used is totally chlorine-free bleached (TCF) or certified with an external eco-label (e.g., Austrian Ecolabel, EU Ecolabel).
For larger print runs, we pay particular attention to producing in accordance with the guidelines of the Austrian Ecolabel for printed and recycled paper products.

Projects

Festival of Curiosity

Strengthening Linz as an innovative, connected destination and bringing it to life – that is the goal of the Festival of Curiosity. The first edition in 2025 was awarded the Austrian Ecolabel for Green Meetings.

Ideas competition

Linz. Sustainable. But how? We were looking for ideas that would make sustainability in Linz tangible, visible, and experiential. Congratulations to the JKU team on winning with their “RecycLinz” project!
