Immerse yourself in the region’s rich historical heritage Archaeological Trail

The Archaeological Trail, spanning around two kilometres, was created in 2008 to provide public access to regional history and the archaeological finds (1999–2002 and 2006–2008) uncovered in the area from different eras.

Infoboards are placed along the trail to provide a few interesting facts for visitors about the digs and the former settlements there.

The trail starts at the Gasthof Hotel Stockinger car park and follows along uphill across meadows and through forests to the fire station at Petersberg. From there, the trail leads towards the meadows surrounding Krems Castle, which marks the end of the route. Findings indicate that the area was once a hub for local trade and settlement.
