He lived between genius and madness and after his death became one of the most famous artists of all time: Vincent van Gogh. The exhibition "Van Gogh - The Immersive Experience" is a guest at the Tabakfabrik Linz and lets visitors immerse themselves in world-famous works using multimedia.
The Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh created more than 2000 works and inspired generations. After Paris and Brussels, the unique exhibition is now making a stop in Linz. In a multimedia spectacle, art becomes an experience.
Visitors can immerse themselves in more than 500 works by Van Gogh and learn many details about the life of the artist, who was born in 1853. The world-famous "Sunflowers", the "Starry Night" or the "Bedroom in Arles" are shown in their full color splendor in multimedia light installations. Thus, ancient art meets state-of-the-art technology, the paintings are enlarged by special projections and brought to life by means of video animations or augmented reality. This creates an incomparable experience of getting to know paintings from an earlier time. No detail of the famous works of art remains hidden from the close observer.
