Wednesday, 29.4.2026, from 19:30 Isata Kanneh-Mason

British pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason combines Beethoven's 'Moonlight' and 'Waldstein' sonatas with Ravel's breathtakingly difficult cycle Gaspard de la nuit and new works by Dobrinka Tabakova.

The night as a sphere of the dreamy, the irrational, the mysterious, the longing has exerted a magnetic attraction on poets, visual artists and composers since the 19th century. Isata Kanneh-Mason brings together a selection of the most famous 'night pieces' in her piano recital, including Ludwig van Beethoven's world-famous 'Moonlight' Sonata, Maurice Ravel's Gaspard de la nuit based on poems by Aloysius Bertrand and the piano pieces Nocturne and Halo by the British-Bulgarian composer Dobrinka Tabakova. Beethoven's energetic 'Waldstein' Sonata rounds off the program as a counterpoint to the atmospheric sounds of the night.
