Saturday, 17.6.2023, 10:00 to 18:00 Gerwald Rockenschaub: reappropriation (allure / construct)

Gerwald Rockenschaub

Gerwald Rockenschaub is one of the most internationally renowned representatives of Austrian contemporary art.

The most important task of museums is to convey cultural content that, in the best case scenario, not only informs the audience, but also touches the individual realities of life and provokes a confrontation with one's own being.

OÖ Landes-Kultur GmbH is therefore pleased that the fourth grade of the Otto Glöckel School has realised its exhibition project in cooperation with the Linz Castle Museum. The project involves 25 pupils who, under the direction of Martin Egger, recreate selected sculptures and paintings in the form of tableaux vivants, have themselves photographed by the photographer Zoe Goldstein and then enter into a dialogue with the original. Since their introduction in the late 18th century, tableaux vivants have served to stage and instruct. The projected "school of seeing" thus also becomes a "school of feeling" for all participants and an occasion for self-reflection and empathy.
