Saturday, 2.5.2026, from 18:00 Contemporary History Tour in the Limonistollen

As part of contemporary history tours with specially trained Austria Guides, it is possible to visit part of the Linz air-raid shelters.

For centuries, the sandstone hills in the west of Linz have been used for beer and wine cellars. During the Second World War, existing cellars were converted into huge, kilometre-long air-raid tunnels, with the exploitation of concentration camp prisoners housed in the tunnels being used for the construction.

Contemporary history tours through the Linz air-raid shelter tunnels take visitors on a journey through the turbulent history of the city.

Information: The tunnel is dark, cold and damp. The floor is uneven. Make sure you wear good shoes, warm clothing and bring a torch. Helmets are provided.
Participation is not recommended for children under the age of 12 due to the content of the tour (forced labour, air war, etc.). Children must also be registered. The price is €19 for children aged 12 and over, and free for families.

Guided tours for groups are available on request at any time!
