Celtic Highland games at Freiseder on Pöstlingberg
From 400 BC, some of the Celts began to migrate to Linz and founded their own state – the kingdom of Noricum – around 200 BC.
The name Linz probably derives from the Celtic word “lentos”.
Modelled on the Scottish Highland games, the Celtic Highland games are a perfectly designed variation on the former, and can be experienced on Pöstlingberg.
In teams, the participants complete individual tasks, guessing games and various courses, and collect points. At the end, the overall winning team is determined.
Fun, creativity and skill are the focus here. The Freiseder wine tavern on Pöstlingberg will provide you with delicious refreshments. Whether a hearty Brat’l in der Rein, a traditional roast pork dish, or a board of typical Mühlviertel delicacies – the rustic ambience invites you to linger and offers a real treat for everyone.
