Getting from A to B

Linz is characterised by short distances. Many locations near the Danube can be reached on foot. In this way, you can also provide some exercise and fresh air in your programme! However, sometimes greater distances cannot be avoided, which is why we've summarised some helpful contacts for you here:

 

Public transport – Linz Linien

Public transport in the city: The trams, the Pöstlingbergbahn and most of the bus services in Linz are run by Linz Linien GmbH. The individual tickets must be purchased or validated before the journey by using the ticket machines at the stops. You can buy tickets in advance from the LINZ AG customer centre, selected tobacconists, or the online shop at www.linzag.at/shop-linien.

blue danube airport linz

Arrival and departure: The blue danube airport shuttle takes you from the airport to the centre of Linz and back.
Choose between taxis or the airport bus no. 601. On workdays, this bus provides hourly connections between Linz's city centre and the airport in just 19 minutes! Tickets are available directly from the bus driver.

Alternatively you can use the train between Hörsching station and Linz main station.
Journey time 11 minutes.

 

ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways)

A direct train connection from Vienna International Airport to Linz Hauptbahnhof. Travel in comfort and save time by taking the train to Linz!
